I am so looking forward to Sunday’s 50K in Fort Worth. My legs are rested and ready to go. The forecast is 55 degrees at the start and 75 degrees when I finish just under six hours later. A little warm but not too bad. Excited.
I am moving back toward my Youth. Wish I had skipped those 30 years in the middle. Those lazy heavy Years. Glad I saw the light before train.
Thank you for the Note Mickey. You have an impressive resume with Western States and Vermont 100. Good luck with your Centurion Goal. I hope someday Malaysia will have their Centurion Race again. We could both be Malaysian Centurions. Rob
Aloha Rob,
I have enjoyed reading about your training. I come from an Ultra running background and now have been walking for 3 years. I live in Thailand and compete in races from the marathon to 12 hour races, held mostly in Malaysia. I am not quite as fast as you yet but have done 88.8 K in 12 hours. Most of our races here are in the heat with high humidity. Yet to break 5 hours walking, one of my goals. Have buckled in WS and Vermont 100 and now have a goal of becoming a Centurion like you some day. Your resume of Breaking 24 hrs, 5 times for 100 miles is VERY IMPRESSIVE !!!!!
Thank you very much for opening up your training/tips, most helpful. At age 63, I am always looking for that little extra advice to help me reach my goals.
Good luck this weekend. Breaking 6 hours is a good realistic goal for 50K. With your training 5:55 is well within reach.
Cheers,
Mickey
